Last I heard, Tom Morgan is not really my cousin-I just thought he was my whole life….but as a Morgan, he will forever be family, a brother in the biggest sense. Thing is, Tom has a radio show on investments that may be the longest running radio show in the US, not sure….and he writes this column…weekly. This week’s is just flat out great. That’s why it’s here. Enjoy!

Tom writes:

  • STARSeptember10
Just revealed: About 500 bald eagles have been killed by
shotgun fire so far this year. Hunters bagged nearly 5000 since
2007. Counting those that did not die, the shooters whacked
    13,000 the last five years.
Once this news reaches the hinterland people will howl,
you bet. They would howl if gunmen had shot 13,000 puppies or
kittens. Or snail darters. Snowy owls or wild ponies.
Do you suppose they would howl if the deaths were of
5000 people? If they did, would the rest of us hear them?
Well the figures above do not apply to bald eagles. They
apply to people gunned down in America. People. The figures
apply to Chicago. Yes, 500 killed since January in Chicago. And
13,000 shot the last five years.
Suppose guerrillas roamed in packs in Chicago, Detroit,
Baltimore, St. Louis and Newark. Seriously. Guerillas like those
who haunt Iraq and Afghanistan. Do you suppose Congress
might call for action to wipe out the warriors? Do you suppose
the President might declare war on them?
If so, what do you suppose is holding them back? These
cities are home to armed guerillas. Many of them operate in
gangs. They terrorize people in countless neighborhoods. They
shoot each other. They shoot innocents. Old men watering their
lawns. Kids on their way to school.
John Kass writing in the Chicago Tribune calls them “…
feral boys, brandishing their guns in cars, waving their death
sticks in rap videos, young African-American men who believe
they have no future, waiting to die.”
  • Murders are all the rage in Chicago lately. But this carnage
has been going on for years. And Chicago hits the headlines
more because it is larger than the other cities I mentioned. The
other cities have higher per-capita homicide rates than Chicago.
Afriend in her 70’s guided me through her family photo
album a few years ago. She grew up in the crime swamps of
Cincinnati’s projects. “Here are all my aunts and uncles at a
reunion. Uncle Fred, he got murdered. His brother Gus here was
paralyzed in a shootout. Gert got killed. Hankie went to prison.”
You see the news about the murders. You know there are
lots of government programs meant to deal with them. Programs
to help the communities deal with the violence. You know there
    is a lot of finger-pointing.
People blame the cops. And racism. And Democrat
machines that run these cities. And unions that won’t allow
better schools. They blame welfare programs. Those that
subsidize lifestyles that encourage families without dads.
Politicians call for rebuilding infrastructure in these cities.
But be honest. Do you see evidence of all-out warfare
against these guerrillas? Do you have any sense that any leaders
are trying to focus every resource against this horror? Do you
sense our leaders have any sense of urgency about this
    nightmare?
Or instead, do you get the feeling this nation’s approach is
a higgledy-piggledy patchwork? My vote goes for higgledy.
Sure would be nice if some leaders tackled this with fierce
determination. Declared war. And enlisted forces from every
corner of society. From business. From universities. From social
agencies. From the police. From everywhere. And knocked
    political heads together.
  • You know they would if guerrillas invaded the posh
suburbs around Washington. They probably would if hunters
    downed 13,000 bald eagles.
America should be shamed we have done so little. Millions
of our fellow citizens fear to walk their streets. Their color and
origin have absolutely nothing to do with this. They are
Americans. We have a moral duty to protect them. And to
remove this cancer from their lives.

(Please don’t miss the footnote…..)

Disastrous  social change does not always start with a bang, gong, bells ringing or sirens issuing warnings. No, social upheaval usually starts with a whimper, a few soft-spoken words that touch a nerve. No leader of what is to become mass hysteria starts with the words, “I will crush you.” At first there are gatherings that turn into patriotic parties and then feel good stickers, hats and flags are passed out. Uniforms might follow.

I’ve heard people ask if Trump could really become another Hitler. Well, that seems a stretch, or does it? More, is the question already answered? Are the social pressures the same in America today as they were in Germany when the charismatic leader of the German Worker’s Party fully took over in 1933? It would seem so. Are the words Trump uses today to unite his followers much like those used by Hitler in 1931? Yes.*(Interesting facts in this footnote.)

In 1931, when Hitler began to draw crowds to his meetings, Germany’s middle class was in upheaval. Basic food necessities out striped what workers could earn in a week, while a well to do class, the Jewish shop keepers, intelligentsia and mid-government/management officials were better off than most. Plus, there was the hated Gypsies, an outside group, who were held responsible for most crime that took place throughout the country.  Most German’s wanted their country to be what it once had been-a society dominated by law,  economic fairness in the work place and upward mobility.

Trump promises to make America great again while blasting immigrants, pointing to corruption among bankers, management and know nothing intellectuals and berating Congress—he says all are the true causes of America’s decline. “I love the poorly educated.” Donald Trump. (2/2016)**

When Hitler spoke of the New Reich it gave Germany’s frustrated workers a place to believe in once more. By 1933, children followed their parent’s lead without question.

Children join the new society of Germany

Children join the new society of Germany(1932)

It's time to join us.

It’s time to join us.

On the night of January 30, 1933, Nazis held parades and cheered for Adolf Hitler, Germany’s  new Chancellor. Two months later, Germany’s Reichstag-the equivalent of America’s Congress-gave the new chancellor dictatorial powers above and beyond that of the aging President.

There were huge marches held under blazing lights to the sound of thundering feet.

There were huge marches held under blazing lights that boomed to the sound of thundering feet.

The fervor for a new, improved Germany grew-the gatherings were thrilling to attend for most.

The fervor for a new, improved Germany grew-the gatherings thrilled many.

At first, the good-hearted souls of united Germany sang songs of protest in front of shop owners thought guilty of charging too much for their goods. It was a protest and few , if any, could conceive of gassing people to death for their wrongdoing…that wasn’t in the picture below.

But for others, the unification was frightening, and it had left them out, unless wearing a bulls eye could be considered membership.

But for some, the unification was frightening, and it had left them out, unless wearing a bull’s eye could be considered membership.(See the worried shop owners in the back…)

At first, Nazis members merely sang songs and stood in lines to protest the wrongs of society.

Soon, a forced unification began throughout Germany that joined all groups, civic or political, as Nazis or they were disband.(1933)

rrare112-4The rallies grew in number and attendance. Common workers, men, women and children were awed by the promise of a new Germany. But first, the emphatic speaker, Hitler, made clear that all enemies of Germany had to be removed if the plan to improve Germany was to succeed. The roving bands of Gypsy criminals were the first to be collected. One arrest led to the next…

The fervor for success and prosperity spread throughout Europe.

Happy and excited crowds saluting Germans at Schwarzach/St. Veith during Hitler's Austrian election campaign.

Happy and excited crowds saluting Germans at Schwarzach/St. Veith during Hitler’s Austrian election campaign.(1938)

Crowds can be misleading; charismatic speakers dangerous.  The rest of what happened for those who mistakenly followed Hitler is a history we all know. Will history be repeated? The times of social unrest in America seem to make it possible. Americans perhaps now more than ever before need to tread lightly, and vote with an awareness of life’s possibilities.

*It’s interesting to read about Hitler’s rise to power in light of Trump’s rise to power, and with regard to how many of us truly can’t comprehend Trump supporters. Did you know that in 1920 Hitler had been convicted of Treason, but, through situations, spent less than a year in jail, and in 1930 Goebbels was tried for High Treason? The Nazi’s party and it’s power took time to grow, but one spring board was the Treaty of Versailles-the populace didn’t like the terms of the agreement( though different in construct-think NAFTA) and most of Hitler Brown Shirts, the SA, were ex-soldiers who fought in WW ll. By 1930, most Germans thought the Gypsies were responsible for the majority of crime in the country.(think Mexican’s and Muslims) In the end, what proved to be a beginning, a head of Hitler’s SA was shot in 1930 by a leftist who thought the strong leaning Nationalists(Nazi’s) were crazy. Three years later Hitler came to full power. He disband the Parliament which everyone thought/knew was corrupt(think our congress) and had himself appointed leader of Germany. All the time, his Brown shirts, ex-military, did the muscle work he needed to get done to gain control. So maybe not over night, but in time, movements can come to fruition, and one assassination can flip any amount of sense to madness.

Really?

(There are no pictures-there are none any would want to see.)

I imagine Buddha, Gandhi or God might find that reading 30 people died was as painful as learning  six family members were killed. Otherwise, it’s difficult for most people to put a face on the dead they never knew. Maybe, that’s why the news that Isis has launched 20 attacks world-wide since 2014 that have killed 1200 people and wounded scores more doesn’t have many of us gnashing our teeth at a wailing wall.

But, what if, for just a moment, you and I imagined all 30 people killed today in Brussels were our direct family members(take a second or two-see their faces in death)….what then? Would we sit in our living room and listen to President hopefuls talk about the situation? Or, might we find ourselves banging fists through walls.

Sometimes, that bull-in-the-ring reaction seems well suited to charge ahead at any cost.

When does the talking stop and unified world-wide forces identify the enemy’s uniform and stomp those wearing it into beetle piss. A beautiful thing about life is that it holds so many truths, and here’s one of them: if no one is safe, then no one is safe. Simple.

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness is a major charge the American people ask of their government. Isis is putting a bad wrinkle on that chink of armor, and doing it across the globe. People of Ankara ask why the two bombings in Turkey that left scores dead this past week did not get the same main stream waving flag of coverage that Brussel’s earned in just one blast.* Their point is well taken, but I think the central point has moved past outrage, past coverage, past detente, way past no boots on the ground.

If Americans and good people all over look outside what they should see, no matter what the weather, is war clouds gathering on our horizon. Isis will not stop random bombings unless they are made to stop. And it only figures Isis will not leave  American football games, parades or Times Square out of their sights. Trouble is, can Isis be made to stop? There’s a gut check question for a knee jerk reaction. Queasy-the only word.

History has well proven that wars do happen, and for each war there has been a cause, a reason for the conflict that those willing to fight and die could not deny. When Fathers, Mothers and Children of all ages are randomly slaughtered as they go to catch a plane, can the reasons for war be too far off?

Maybe, not having a choice will make this ensuing war easier, but I think not. “We have nothing to fear but fear itself?” Well, there’s an early death; that can’t be perfect. Still, the time is here. It’s time some good sides march left to right while the other good sides march right to left and together, the two forces must squash everyone in between that is an enemy of free life, free travel, community safety and civilized people.

The deadly bombings are happening across the globe far more than most American’s know. It’s past time for complaining about what we have to do about this ideological menace to the civilized world- we have to stand up, stop apologizing for what may or may not have caused the problem to begin with, and stop the murderers now. No one can change history, but many can stop these random bombings.

Isis can end, but only with a world-wide effort. Sadly, words will never be enough.

Finally, and in my lifetime, a glimmer of the truth about JFK’S assassination comes forth.

It’s reported today that newly released documents reveal that CIA people had not only failed to disclose what they knew about Lee Harvey Oswald’s involvement with their agency but also lied to the Warren Commission about so much more. He’d worked hand-in-hand with the CIA on assassination plots.http://finance.yahoo.com/news/were-learning-more-cia-cover-155047836.html

The lone gunman was never alone. No, he had rubbed shoulders for a long time with the CIA , working on several plots to kill Castro, even handing out CIA pressed literature upon the streets of Dallas that put the Cuban Leader in a bad light. It’s called, friends in high places.

How high did Oswald’s connections go? So high that the CIA instructed its witnesses to lie to the Warren Commission about his ties to the agency even though, they now admit, the truth would have led the Warren Commission’s investigations down a different path. It’s fair to conclude that never traveled pathway would have led right back to the CIA, to their people, the ones who knew more about the killing of our President than they told.

So now, years later, almost lifetimes later, we’re told by reporting agencies that the CIA testimony  to the Warren Commission was a lie, and that their witnesses were lying about the Oswald connection to the CIA, but  in any event the agency is still telling the truth about the actual assassination.(This is the main line reporting angle.)

What we have after this revelation is a lying agency who’s telling the truth?!?!?

It remains a mystery why someone would kill Oswald while in custody, or why the two cops were holding the only man who might spill the beans about the CIA in place so Ruby could accurately shoot him right in the gut.

Many who witnessed the Kennedy assassination say shots were fired from the grassy knoll on that tragic day in Dallas. Many specialists say Oswald could never have fired so many bullets in such a short amount of time. Many reports indicate several exit wounds were found on the President’s dead body. The CIA has said those claims are rumors, mistakes, not true. That’s an easy way to dump stuff under a bazillion pages of the Warren Report. Now, the CIA has dumped itself right into that same pit-they lied; they covered up the murder of President Kennedy.

Some say, follow the money if you want to find out who took it. Johnson became the next President. On the plane from Dallas, as he was sworn in, Lyndon Johnson shed no tears, but did take time to smile at the man winking his way….

Who wouldn't wink just after the president has been assassinated, right?

Who wouldn’t wink just after the president has been assassinated, right?

jfkwink (1)

The winking man is Albert Thomas, a Texas politician and at the time Chairman of the House Appropriations of Defense….

It's another no brainer.....

It’s another no brainer…..Wink; Wink;Wink…..

Everyone winks when they’re sad!!!

Everything's in hand...very cool, boss.

Everything’s in hand…very cool, boss. I’m soooo sad.

In fact, with President Kennedy’s brains still stuck to he vehicle he’d been riding,,, the plane ride back to Washington must have been a regular riot for Lyndon Johnson and his buddy Albert! And just think-so many more assassinations were yet to come!

Okay. I’ve mentioned this mysterious wink once before, the blog link is below. BUT, whatever you do, don’t miss Lyndon Johnson’s mistress saying Lyndon had told her that Kennedy would be finished, done, in a few days…just before the killing. http://whatreallyhappened.com/WRHARTICLES/jfk_lbj_wink.html

The CIA, the ones we trust-to spread that hogwash thinner…..?

(Please don’t miss yesterday’s post: Pro choice; Pro abortion.)

I’ve been lurking about the crumpled pages of the gun debate.

I have to admit, Guns don’t kill people, people do, has a certain ring to it. It’s sorta how tooth brushes don’t brush teeth, people do!–NOT.

WPD’S= Weapons of People Destruction.

not your run-of-the mill linen closet....

not your run-of-the mill linen closet….

Recently, I heard Donald Trump remark that the latest killing in Oregon was a matter of Mental Health, the words inferring the issue is not so much one of gun control, but mental health. This isn’t the first time I’ve heard this distinction slide from the mouths of people, gun lobbyists and NRA members. Here’s the point: the fact that a nut job who killed random people with a gun needed a mental health intervention before the act does not preclude the fact that having guns so prevalent in our society is a nightmare scenario that must be addressed. Twisting the two thoughts apart as though one negates the other is a sleight-of-thought maneuver well-greased with manure.

Yes, any person should be able to sit in a room with a loaded gun and not kill their friends over what tv channel to watch, flirtations, break ups, getting laid off, not laid, or just plain having a bad day while deciding they’re a super hero. So, it does appear in view of the scattered carnage that’s taking place in malls, schools, movie houses, homes, places of business and on our streets across the US that many American’s need some form of Mental counseling. Thing is, no one should be sitting in a living room that houses armor piecing bullets, automatic machine guns, bazookas, one million rounds of ammo, instructions on how to drive the tank out back, use the rocket launchers in the basement, or wear the bullet proof armor that’s stashed in the closet, either. To uncloud the issue, if a warmongering Armageddon is coming, none of these WPD’S will help anyone.

Getting back to the saying: guns don’t kill people, people do….Well, yes, people with guns kill people…and never ever, I’m gonna take this leap of faith, has a gun stood up and shot a person. See, the people do have a part in the killing, but if they had no gun, and merely pointed a finger and said, really loudly, BANG, not much would happen.  So yeah, guns are the killing point of the issue.

“But bad guys won’t obey the gun laws put in place!” Oy Vey, how many times have I heard this convoluted piece of illogical nonsense.

Again, everyday in every way and for every sort of reason, people drive through stop signs without stopping but, still, our country puts up stop signs-over 8 hundred million stops signs, 856,373,373 to be exact by the end of 2009, even though it’s well-known people will disobey that law. So yeah,  it’s foolish to think that a law shouldn’t be enacted because people will break it, or disregard the law. Laws stands for what we as a society thinks best.

It’s nice to debate-a huge part of the beauty of America is the freedom we enjoy to discuss the issues as loudly as we like- but at some point in time, the debating needs to end, the bell has to ring, and a winner declared.  Enough. Even an NRA enthusiast if they’d buried their college bound child this past weekend due to a madman shooting would agree, we need to clamp down on  weapons of people destruction here in America in every way possible by any available means.

One last thought,,, as an American you have the right to join state-run militias, and to do so , you have the right to own a gun…not stock pile an arsenal onto your kitchen shelves.* Please enjoy reading the 2nd Amendment.  “A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” The second part of this statement simply defines a condition that’s inherently necessary if one is to be a member of an actively run, STATE MILITIA…..Don’t think so? Find your view, or not, in the article linked….

Franque23 wants the US to stop, drop and roll. I want the murders to stop, or drop in number and to roll those weapons away.

a part…from the link above-

The Argument for “Militia-Only” Gun Ownership

So well-worn is this argument that Justice John Paul Stevens used it in his dissent in District of Columbia vs. Heller (emphasis added):

The Second Amendment was adopted to protect the right of the people of each of the several States to maintain a well-regulated militia. It was a response to concerns raised during the ratification of the Constitution that the power of Congress to disarm the state militias and create a national standing army posed an intolerable threat to the sovereignty of the several States. Neither the text of the Amendment nor the arguments advanced by its proponents evidenced the slightest interest in limiting any legislature’s authority to regulate private civilian uses of firearms. Specifically, there is no indication that the Framers of the Amendment intended to enshrine the common-law right of self-defense in the Constitution.

As did Justice Stephen Breyer in the same case (emphasis added):

The majority’s conclusion is wrong for two independent reasons. The first reason is that set forth by Justice Stevens—namely, that the Second Amendment protects militia-related, not self-defense-related, interests. These two interests are sometimes intertwined. To assure 18th-century citizens that they could keep arms for militia purposes would necessarily have allowed them to keep arms that they could have used for self-defense as well. But self-defense alone, detached from any militia-related objective, is not the Amendment’s concern.

Tooth brushes don’t brush teeth–people do.

Anyway this whole ruckus about the Right to Bear Arms is a simple misunderstanding.

These are the arms our Founding Father's were talking about.

These are the arms our Founding Father’s were talking about.

You have to get into the mind-set of the people who wrote that phrase-then interpreting the phrase comes easily. More, our tough-as-nails Forefather’s also meant these arms-

They were all about strength of will, courage and fortitude.

They were all about strength of will, courage and fortitude.

But, as usual in America, there’s a debate about this issue. Some say, intelligentsia four eyes insist, that the problem we’re having today about murderous people with innocent guns was brought about by a simple spelling mistake….

Our forefather's felt it each person's right to bare their arms...

Our Forefather’s felt it was each person’s right to bare their arms…they were, after all, roll up your sleeves and get the job done kind of folks.

They didn’t give a squat about totting around heavy weapons….as if.

Remember-our Founding Fathers were visionaries.

Remember-our Founding Fathers were visionaries.

images (23) images (23)Here’s the idea. Maybe, two ideas. We could expand the right to bare arms….

(Picture, or google , a nude beach in Europe…and no, I can’t post that here. Thing is, those Europeans knew what our Forefather’s were talkin’ about, and got it right the first time!)

And bar arms in bars…..

Drinking and shooting people don't mix...just ask Dick Chaney.

Drinking and shooting people don’t mix…just ask Dick Cheney.*

So yeah, no, guns have little to do with the issue.

Likewise,  poisoned food is not a problem,  it’s the loony’s who make it, or serve it, or spread it out by the billion tons who cause the problem. Root those nasty’s out, or educated them so they’ll give up making fortunes, and we’ll be left with nothing but a few gazillion mountains of chemicals.  We can dump all of this in the ocean or put it in the same holes we use to store Nuclear waste!

Nuclear waste is not a problem–people just don’t know how to handle the 81 million tons of highly radioactive waste nuclear power plants generate world-wide per year.

Just don't lie in the stuff...follow directions...

Just don’t lie in the stuff…follow directions…

(See? I’m learning!)If people could only be trained about nuclear waste, educated, then the toxic stuff would become harmless-as safe as a purring kitten.

Fukushima is still purring.

Fukushima is still purring.

Of course, it all follows that guns don’t kill people–people do. Shoot, here in the U.S. only 10,000 children per year go to the ER suffering from gunshot wounds! Better yet, only 3,000 of those children die per year from their injuries. If we just educated that three-year old how to properly hold a gun, things would turn up roses in Gunville of America.

Thing is, some people don’t think education will stop people from using tooth brushes on their teeth. Some say, getting A’s in class won’t make poison less lethal, nuclear waste a good companion or guns friendly in the hands of people. Take this downer of a guy, Daniel Webster, as an example.

“Daniel Webster, the director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Policy and Research, told NBC News. “We have an extraordinary health burden in our youth associated with firearms injuries.” Webster pointed out that the United States’ rate of mortality from firearms is about ten times higher than the rates in other wealthy Nations.”http://thinkprogress.org/health/2014/01/27/3206581/kids-gun-violence-killed-injuries/

Look, America’s a free country, and if I want fifteen loaded Uzi  in my pantry, twelve thousand pounds of leaking poisons in my garage, really big tooth brushes and a stock pile of nuclear waste in my backyard I should be allowed to have it! And, if some God Fearing company wants to frack my land until my drinking water rots my teeth-I don’t want some big government fella complaining about that-this is a free, open, no holds barred economy.

this saves on hot water bills , too.

Fracking saves people money on their hot water bills , too.

No holds bared and the right to bare arms are both easy to grasp.

No holds barred and the right to bare arms are both easy concepts to grasp. What in the freakin’ heck happened?!?!

Heck, it’s all about education. Even a dumb-ol’ bear knows that!

Bye-bye and may your guns always be loaded and your home fires burning....

Bye-bye

May your guns always be loaded, and your home fires keep burning….

If I remember right, God said to go forth and multiply your gun collection until the earth tilts….or was that, gum collection-I forget.

We’d all like to be saints, souls without fault and unblemished records, but not many of us fit that bill precisely. Stuff happens in life.  Thing is, not many of us get strangled to death by a policeman, either. Eric Garner did.  Was this man a saint? No. According to Wikipedia-

“Garner had a criminal record that includes more than 30 arrests dating back to 1980 on charges such as assault, resisting arrest, grand larceny. An official said the charges include multiple incidents in which he was arrested for selling unlicensed cigarettes.[

See? Not a saint. But others, a neighbor and his wife, have things to say about Eric Garner as well-

“Everybody that knows him will tell you that he’s a wonderful person,” said Charlene Thomas, 64, who knew the victim from when she worked in a deli a few stores down from where Thursday’s incident(his murder) occurred.“I would hug him every day. He was like a big teddy bear,” she said.*

“He(Eric Garner) was a great dad — he’s just a warm guy,” said Jewel Miller, the mother of Garner’s newborn daughter.” Ms. Miller( Garner’s EX-wife.)*

Eric Garner with his new born daughter.....

Eric Garner with his new born daughter…..

So, there are conflicting histories about this man. On the surface, he is at best a repeat criminal; on a personal level, he was well liked.

But here’s what matters today-

The truth about his murder is evident; the fraudulent claim by the grand jury that this case  need not go to trial is a disgrace, and it must be challenged.

Every policeman present at the time of the act is guilty of complicity to commit murder. You don’t think so? Try this test- Imagine, as you watch the video clip from CNN,(below) that the man killed, Eric Garner, is actually a policeman, and the policemen who committed the crime are actually five citizens, all friends who share mostly the same values and beliefs. In this scenario, the group of five friends tackle a cop who is standing on the street, knock him down, and then hold the cop down and strangle him to death. Now-should the five men who killed the cop  be charge with murder and go to trial or not?

Okay-watch the clip–(and remember the black man is now the only cop in the picture) http://www.cnn.com/2014/12/03/justice/new-york-grand-jury-chokehold/index.html?hpt=hp_t1

And no, the policemen were not merely doing their duty-cops aren’t paid to kill people.

Yes. This was murder…and I don’t get it. Why did none of the other police at the scene of the crime stop the action? Did they have reason to want this man dead??? I have to wonder. Or, was this a senseless crime committed by a cop and his gang?  Many say  the policeman who administered the fatal choke hold should be put on trial for his actions. I say-that’s not enough. All of the policemen at the scene should be , at least, charged with complicity to commit murder-regardless of their motives.

Gang of four kill Eric Garner

Have none of the police involved in this crime heard of pepper spray, or simple physical restraint? How could all five or six of these armed officers fail to realize that one man who is handcuffed is no longer a threat? Word is that Eric Garner died in the ambulance from a heart attack while on route to the hospital after his mugging. But this isn’t what the Corner found….

“After the incident, city medical examiners concluded that Garner was killed by neck compression from the choke hold, along with “the compression of his chest and prone positioning during physical restraint by police”.  Wikipedia

My two centsMost police are good people, just like me and you..Some make mistakes, others never do. But America is about fair trials, and too many times the process is being circumvented by authorities who do America an injustice by their rulings to not hold a trial….Let the cases be heard; what can be the harm in that?

Here’s someone else’s take on the murder of Eric Garner.* “Look, being a good person doesn’t mean you’re not accountable for your actions. I could be Mother Teresa, but if I commit a crime I have to pay for it – that’s the basic premise of “being a good person” in America or anywhere else. A good person pleads guilty and does the time for the crime, because whether you’re a cop or not, killing someone in an altercation is a crime – unless you can claim self-defense. And when you’re facing an unarmed man who is backing away from the fellow police with you, and you jump him from behind and kill him, and are caught on camera…well, you should have a pretty f–king difficult time proving self-defense.”

Cops, like most citizens, don’t like the violence in our society but, Jeez, let’s not join in on it! It’s said you fight fire with fire, that helps draw a line in the dirt that the fired can’t cross. Thing is, in these matters of civil unrest, fighting fire with fire just makes for a larger blaze. If a man doesn’t have a cool head, then I don’t want him packing, period. And, if five people watch one of their buddies strangle a man, I want them all brought to trial. A Lynch mob wearing badges-not America.
