Strange times are a foot, and it isn’t just ex-Senator  Larry Craig toe-tapping for men in a rest room.

Hi, I'm Larry Craig and I'm against Gays...not being in the rest room with me.

Hi, I’m Larry Craig and I’m against Gays…not being in the rest room with me.

To be clear, I don’t care if a person is straight, twisted, circular, flat lined, up, down, sideways, standing on their head or tip-toeing through tulips, just don’t make me do someone else’s  self-appointed so-called machination of living. Me? I’m so-called normal, always have been, but the thing is, the MOST important thing is, NORMAL is a passe’ word. It’s gone kaput, fini, done, flash-fried and over easy in the new, improved world. Here’s my thought-okay, one of them, the word normal will become an obsolete term in twenty -five years. Let’s face it. Normal is a prejudice word by today’s standards.

Behavior that once stayed in the closet(BTW-how did so many gay guys do it in a closet?) is now openly paraded down  main street USA  by people wearin’ pink spandex shorties.

Hmmm maybe try the spandex after all.

Hmm, if only he’d chosen the spandex.

Whatever. Thing is, facts are coming to light that show many of our leaders who most fought against the gay communities in the past were gay themselves. Perverse, that’s the word that comes to mind.

Thought for the day…..

Huge pegs don't fit thru small holes......

Huge pegs don’t fit thru small holes……and the changes we are seeing today in standard living profiles is a hard fit into obsolete, small-minded people. So what ever happened to love the one you’re with?

Woodstock led the way when it came to the freedom to love one another---if only more had followed.

Woodstock led the way when it came to the freedom to love one another—if only more had followed.

American’s today still fight for the right to love–isn’t that odd? Generations that followed mine often complain about my generation, that we didn’t do enough–well, I say the following generations didn’t fight to make our dreams come true, but instead got swallowed alive by technology and dungeons and dragons. Which ever point is true-this is true.

Today, 400,000 French parade for the right to keep the 35 hours work week…

While, at the same time, Americans are still parading for the right to have sex with someone?

Have to say-the outfits rock

Have to say-the outfits rock!

To this day the FBI insists no one can prove the first director of the FBI, Edgar Hoover, was gay. Of course,  Hoover lived with his male friend, Clyde Tolson, for forty years, ate lunch with him every day, went on vacations with him and left most of his estate to the man in his will–all the while Hoover led the charge against gays publicly. “In public, Hoover waged a vendetta against homosexuals and kept “confidential and secret” files on the sex lives of congressmen and presidents. But privately, according to some biographers, he had numerous trysts with men, including a lifelong affair with Tolson. http://abcnews.go.com/Health/edgar-hoover-sex-men-homosexual/story?id=14948447.”

your average day quirky friendship-that's all.

your average day quirky friendship-that’s all.

In fact, the FBI warned Clint Eastwood to not portray Hoover as gay in a movie he made about the man. I think this says plenty about where the FBI still stands on the gay issue–“Oh no, this can’t be..It’s the worst thing ever!” Right…. Hey, FBI, grow up,,,meet 2016 and chill about Hoover being gay. WE don’t care!!! In the end of the day, I’ll never forget how mad my Dad got when he first heard the term , gay, being used over TV by a reporter to refer to Homosexuals… Wheweee. My dad shouted how that term meant happy! In his day, I guess it did.

I don’t care who’s gay or not, who wears spandex or not-wait-maybe I do, dang! Each to his own! How long has that phrase been well-known, but never learned?

No, what bothers me is when gay guys, in this case, paraded as our Representatives who led charges against gay rights while they were  hold up in the moldy, secret, gay closets they loved so much! Here’s a link to a current true story that’s worth a hoot and a holler…. http://georgiboi.com/religion/16-anti-gay-leaders-exposed-gay-bisexual/ Basically, these representative guys have more than one screw loose; they must have degrees from a 101 course on how to hate yourself!

Of course, since our society will study, tear apart and rename anything under the sun so no one gets hurt by a label, the CDC–Center of Disease Control,  has determined that there is a disease where men make love to men but still are not ‘Gay’. Yeah, nice.  Okay, if that makes someone feel better.  And the HUGE bull frog I found hiding from my dog under my hose today is really a bird, or maybe a singing rabbit-not sure.  Can we just say,  it’s okay to be gay, but don’t go around showing your ass by crucifying gays from public office or any other place, be you gay or not?

Jeez is the idea of tolerance soup yet? Or, will acceptance of those who are different from us take another hundred years to finally rise to our consciousness?

One other thought after establishing the fact that some politicians, preachers and whatnot’s have had the balls to call out gay’s while they themselves are gay incognito, (I’ve always wanted to use that word in a glob)- I’ve a question… does this mean it’s correct to extrapolate that Trump has all his chips down on Isis and Muslims? It’s sorta like our whole society is looking into a fun house funny mirror-the guy who hates Muslims and who has gone bankrupt soooo many times should be President? Our gay leaders lead the charge against gays!  Peeeerfecto. Okay, it’s screw ball soup…American style.

We can ride this out together

We can ride this out together…

As a Christian minister in the Western world, I’d like to mention that Jesus’ message was hope, help, healing and above all, love. Stop the hate; join 2016, a new, brighter world. Love the next gay person you meet- you don’t have to kiss…

I agree that term limits sounds reasonable—of course the argument is this: with term limits, no matter how long the term, there comes a time when the representative knows they will not be held responsible for anything during, say, their last year or 6 months of service.

So, the idea against term limits is that representatives will run amok once they know they can’t be re-elected again no matter what they do!

BUT, there’s this-

,,,…..meanwhile, I once knew two people who worked very high up in government; one in Washington D.C during the Reagan administration, the other during the same time as a government inspector administrator for the power industry-both women. They told me representatives were snorting coke left and right, all the time, and people were screwing in their offices as well as taking bribes on a daily basis….they had no reason to lie about this, and without knowing what is going on now, I believed them at the time. They each told me more graphically about the where, when’s and hows of the sex, the drugs and the payoffs, but I’m not going into that on this post but to add-it sounded bad.

Ooh, and one more thing—-I had a relative, now deceased, who’s dad was a representative from Texas and that man served in Washington for about 40 years(I believe) …Well, as his son, our relative, was elected to replace his dad–he served one or two terms and then left, telling me personally and other family members that Washington D.C. was a den of thieves and he just didn’t have the stomach for it.

Hmmm, and all this with no term limits.

After thought: I suppose our family representative could’ve been exaggerating, or maybe he felt he had to defend his decision to leave office? The two women, one worked in D.C. over twenty years while the other in the Administration’s inspection unit for about 8 years, maybe they were just claiming to know? All I know is I heard this all first hand, not as a rumor.

Lately, it was reported that one representative was filmed by accident as he watched porn on his lap top while listening to a speaker on the floor of congress.* Other times, speakers rattle on to a room full of empty chairs.Empty_Chamber_Congress_500I’m thinking this is actually Bernie talking in Washington back in 1991 on the dangers of the Persian gulf…the listener(s) were on the edge of their seats/!

It has circulated on FB how many crimes representatives have been found guilty of or been accused of committing.

The bottom line is America needs a correction-not just in our economy, a boost for the middle class and workers, not just for our infrastructure and our power source systems, not just in our educational methods or in our Wall Street high finance and international banks, many who had to pay 4.25 billion dollars in fines recently for price-fixing international markets**, but inside the soul of Americans and leaders world-wide we need a re-boot, a clean up, a straightening of the core fibers of our being.

Now? Representatives toe-tap in bathrooms for sex and become millionaires while serving as elective officials whose salaried positions could never bring them such wealth. The writing is not on the wall for American’s to read, its smeared on our faces. Many high ranking, elected officials are stealing money, making money driven decisions and wrecking lives in the process. Around the globe things may not be much better. What’s to be done?

(Please don’t miss the footnote…..)

Disastrous  social change does not always start with a bang, gong, bells ringing or sirens issuing warnings. No, social upheaval usually starts with a whimper, a few soft-spoken words that touch a nerve. No leader of what is to become mass hysteria starts with the words, “I will crush you.” At first there are gatherings that turn into patriotic parties and then feel good stickers, hats and flags are passed out. Uniforms might follow.

I’ve heard people ask if Trump could really become another Hitler. Well, that seems a stretch, or does it? More, is the question already answered? Are the social pressures the same in America today as they were in Germany when the charismatic leader of the German Worker’s Party fully took over in 1933? It would seem so. Are the words Trump uses today to unite his followers much like those used by Hitler in 1931? Yes.*(Interesting facts in this footnote.)

In 1931, when Hitler began to draw crowds to his meetings, Germany’s middle class was in upheaval. Basic food necessities out striped what workers could earn in a week, while a well to do class, the Jewish shop keepers, intelligentsia and mid-government/management officials were better off than most. Plus, there was the hated Gypsies, an outside group, who were held responsible for most crime that took place throughout the country.  Most German’s wanted their country to be what it once had been-a society dominated by law,  economic fairness in the work place and upward mobility.

d00a4990-5d76-4524-afc4-5e220142c771Hitler with Ford—he was not always hated.

Trump promises to make America great again while blasting immigrants, pointing to corruption among bankers, management and know nothing intellectuals and berating Congress—he says all are the true causes of America’s decline. “I love the poorly educated.” Donald Trump. (2/2016)**

When Hitler spoke of the New Reich it gave Germany’s frustrated workers a place to believe in once more. By 1933, children followed their parent’s lead without question.

Children join the new society of Germany

Children join the new society of Germany(1932)

It's time to join us.

It’s time to join us.

On the night of January 30, 1933, Nazis held parades and cheered for Adolf Hitler, Germany’s  new Chancellor. Two months later, Germany’s Reichstag-the equivalent of America’s Congress-gave the new chancellor dictatorial powers above and beyond that of the aging President.

There were huge marches held under blazing lights to the sound of thundering feet.

There were huge marches held under blazing lights that boomed to the sound of thundering feet.

The fervor for a new, improved Germany grew-the gatherings were thrilling to attend for most.

The fervor for a new, improved Germany grew-the gatherings thrilled many.

At first, the good-hearted souls of united Germany sang songs of protest in front of shop owners thought guilty of charging too much for their goods. It was a protest and few , if any, could conceive of gassing people to death for their wrongdoing…that wasn’t in the picture below.

But for others, the unification was frightening, and it had left them out, unless wearing a bulls eye could be considered membership.

But for some, the unification was frightening, and it had left them out, unless wearing a bull’s eye could be considered membership.(See the worried shop owners in the back…)

At first, Nazis members merely sang songs and stood in lines to protest the wrongs of society.

Soon, a forced unification began throughout Germany that joined all groups, civic or political, as Nazis or they were disband.(1933)

rrare112-4The rallies grew in number and attendance. Common workers, men, women and children were awed by the promise of a new Germany. But first, the emphatic speaker, Hitler, made clear that all enemies of Germany had to be removed if the plan to improve Germany was to succeed. The roving bands of Gypsy criminals were the first to be collected. One arrest led to the next…

The fervor for success and prosperity spread throughout Europe.

Happy and excited crowds saluting Germans at Schwarzach/St. Veith during Hitler's Austrian election campaign.

Crowds can be misleading; charismatic speakers dangerous.  The rest of what happened for those who mistakenly followed Hitler is a history we all know. Will history be repeated? The times of social unrest in America seem to make it possible. Americans perhaps now more than ever before need to tread lightly, and vote with an awareness of life’s possibilities.

*It’s interesting to read about Hitler’s rise to power in light of Trump’s rise to power, and with regard to how many of us truly can’t comprehend Trump supporters. Did you know that in 1920 Hitler had been convicted of Treason, but, through situations, spent less than a year in jail, and in 1930 Goebbels was tried for High Treason? The Nazi’s party and it’s power took time to grow, but one spring board was the Treaty of Versailles-the populace didn’t like the terms of the agreement( though different in construct-think NAFTA) and most of Hitler Brown Shirts, the SA, were ex-soldiers who fought in WW ll. By 1930, most Germans thought the Gypsies were responsible for the majority of crime in the country.(think Mexican’s and Muslims) In the end, what proved to be a beginning, a head of Hitler’s SA was shot in 1930 by a leftist who thought the strong leaning Nationalists(Nazi’s) were crazy. Three years later Hitler came to full power. He disband the Parliament which everyone thought/knew was corrupt(think our congress) and had himself appointed leader of Germany. All the time, his Brown shirts, ex-military, did the muscle work he needed to get done to gain control. So maybe not over night, but in time, movements can come to fruition, and one assassination can flip any amount of sense to madness.

Used-Car-SalesmanThing is, Trump uses a tactic throughout his speeches that is near and dear to my heart. It’s called, 101 Retail, or, How To Sell. The basic principles of selling came to me by way of observation, first hand experience and lesson.  The steps that lead to the transfer of another’s energy to yours are basically always the same.

The first thing any good salesman does is size up his target buyer. Their age, do they have money, do they seem intelligent, emotional, in need, disinterested, distracted, focused, determine, in a hurry or not. This may seem involved, but it’s all about observation, and if a seller pays attention they’ll get most of these answers right after a five-minute discussion with the prospective buyer. Once the target is identified, the seller claims to have the same thoughts, needs, problems and desires. “We are rowing the same boat, friend.”4341670_f260

The next thing to do in 101 Retail is identify everything that may challenge what you are about to sell and then tear that thing to shreds immediately and continually throughout the sale. It’s sorta along the premise that a Hero or Heroine can only be as great as the villain is bad in any story. A seller has to vet out any idea the buyer has about what they want if it isn’t what he hopes to sell. Slander, lies, storytelling, misdirection, dangers associated with the cursed item, nothing is too much when establishing the dregs of anything that might compete with the item being sold–this is called foundation work. “I think that item is in recall?”

Once the dire destruction building blocks of any  competitive product are in place, the salesman focuses on the attributes of what he’s selling. So much better, superior in every way, the comparisons are easy to see, the price is a no brainer once you see the difference.  A smile, some humor, maybe a glance or soft pat on the back makes us all trusted friends. “Why, I’d never mislead you.”

If, for some rare reason, the buyer does know something,”I know a thing or two”, that conflicts with what has been said it’s easy to note—I meant to say, what I mean,  the truth is, the facts don’t change, in the long run, or, some say that, but most, the majority of people and articles disagree.

1)Trump is a business man and has approached the primaries in 101 sales pitch fashion. He’s one of us…How rich is he? “I am very, very rich.” He claims this because he knows deep in the heart  most American’s want to be rich, too. The money bragging then works as a weird, I am like you though only through your dreams while I live the life. As for sizing up his electorate, that had been well documented by countless polls and articles about the far right before Trump started to run.

2)What were Trump’s challenges? It amazes me how many Republicans complain about name calling or semi-slanderous Meme’s when their candidate of choice is Trump? Has there ever been a looser lipped Presidential candidate than Trump? Answer: no. Every Republican in the primary has been given a trash term by Trump!!! Any one who challenged him was bleeding from places unknown, a cripple, or a loser of epic proportions.(BTW–Trump has gone bankrupt how many times?/)

3) The Republican field has been shredded successfully and now Trump is busy claiming he never said that, didn’t meant that, forgets, it was so long ago, he’s been misrepresented , misunderstood, disrespected by the media?(hahahha), he’s only telling the truth, and he’s the only product left standing. The last thought-true.

I’m watching Republicans circle their wagons around a huge misstep for the party that is named, Trump. Fortunately for Americans, Trump has assured us. “I’m not stupid!” he said. Odd, that a possible candidate for presidency the United States would have to say the words?!?!? Worse, why did a politician from London make the claim? Actually, I don’t want to get into that in this glob—there are too many reasons; too much to discuss.

“I’m not Stupid!” That’s from the Gettysburg Address, right? No, wait! Reagan said that! Actually, only Trump….figures.70-rebel-machine-parts-car-desert-2

I’ve spent most of my life wishing I could be a weatherman. Then, it dawned on me!The job’s not a breeze after all. My dream evaporated. Sure, weather reporters are wrong half the time and still get paid—what other job would allow that—but there’s more to it.

who knew the job could be so tough.

Who knew the job could be so tough.

Thing is, every weather person has to work two jobs for the pay of one-weather reporter and comedian. It’s a rip off job—a whirlwind, downdraft of a career. Yes, weather reporting is a stand up comedy routine done under the umbrella of a weather report. It’s all a snow job in front of a green board.Worse, every weather reporter in Northern Florida has been telling the same joke for the past seven days…

“Cloudy with lightning and rain…” You get the newspaper picture-the tearing cloud as lightning strikes from it. Everyday for a week it’s been the same symbol. rainlightn2_7187Ha!If someone blew smoke in your eyes, then you’ve seen clouds here-that’s about it. Talk about a depression.

It’s just not fair! Weather reports shower us with a blizzard of blustery probabilities.c1920x1080_4

Sometimes high pressure systems come in pairs.

Can you imagine a car mechanic saying, “Your car has a 60% chance of making it to your home.”

Weather reporting is an art….Circles, lines….neat.

But, I guess dealing a slight chance of scattered truth for a living has to create some pressure, a supersaturated vortex of inversions within the soul, or knot.

It will be hot today...

It will be hot today…

Weather reporters spend one half of their professional career wrecking lives.

And maybe marriages....

And maybe marriages….

There’s no way to count the number of ruined parties, picnics, drug deals and boat parades that have been destroyed by bad weather reporting. What about children’s hopes for school closings that get crammed in dumpsters along with unfinished homework? Lover’s leaps may have been canceled and wet tee-shirts have stayed dry all due to blow-hard, muggy, muddy predictions that drizzle from weatherman’s smiles. Basically, the job’s a tsunami of screw-ups-one wave after another of highs and lows. One day you feel like a nut, the next day you are.

Fact: weather-people try to stay under the radar. Others undress, hoping listeners become watchers and won’t remember they forecast a heat wave.

Top of the morning to ya!

Top of the morning to ya! Wait, it is hot!

It’s almost certain that wherever you live there will be bunnies

Didn't Monty Python warn us about the rabbit?

Didn’t Monty Python warn us about the rabbit?

Basically, we should all cheer up! There’s weather ahead.

Go Green?

Go Green? Maybe, that’s the silver lining….

On the street, that is. The French work force is boiling mad and marching on the street. It’s true, these protests have been quietly covered by some US media, but for the most part the  big news has remained the terrorist’s attacks, especially those in France and Brussels. Thing is,  terrorism remains a threat full of horrendous attacks that end lives, but the threat French workers are marching against this week isn’t coming from Isis. No, the young, the middle-aged and the old are marching in force against their government’s plan to change the labor laws.

We're not gonna take it....we sing it, the French mean it.

We’re not gonna take it….we sing it, the French mean it.

April 6th, 2016....Every worker should know about this threat...

April 6th, 2016….Every worker should know about this threat…

It may be well-known that by law the French full-time work week is currently 35 hours. In truth, this law has only benefited about 30% of the work force. From the get-go, around 2000 when this 35 work week law was put in place, owners, politicians and back room deals have worked to avoid this law, to skew and bury those parameters under a thinly veiled montage of exceptions.

So why then, if the French truly average about a 40.5 hour work week under the 35 hour work week law, do the French workers care so much about changes in the labor laws? It really comes down to the “Foot in the door” syndrome. The French hear their government saying what the German government had said a while back, that a longer work week is needed for the economy, that the longer hours will lessen unemployment and make rainbows appear in the sky. Trouble is, those rainbows in Germany now hang above a work week that averages 48 to 60 hours per week in that country. The fat cats feast while the workers strain under long work weeks with little protection from being fired, laid-off or given reduced hours should demand of goods require the change.

People gather on the Place de la Republique in Paris, France, Friday, April 8, 2016. Thousands of protesters have been camping out, holding night-time demonstrations since last week at a symbolic rallying point on the Place de la Republique, to express anger at a proposed labor law and social conditions in France. The social media-driven movement, called "Nuit Debout" or "Rise up at Night," sprang from nationwide strikes and protests last week. (AP Photo/Michel Euler)

The French workers know their way of life is under attack, and they are fighting back. Reports on the issue backed by the French government and business owners are sometimes laughable.

This is from the owner’s PR point of view, fully backed by the Socialist government (more on that-it’s an odd twist that has socialist supporters scratching their heads.).

“There is probably no longer any need to keep the 35-hour week law on the books. It has helped lower-income women in France find more time for their families, it may have contributed to cutting unemployment at some point, and it may have shifted some of the work burden to people who were able to dispatch it more rationally. It has, however, failed to establish a universal social norm as strong as the five-day, 40-hour week.”

Here’s what I get from the above….”There is probably….” “It has helped…women…more time for their families” Blah, Blah, Blah, right? And… “It may have contributed to cutting unemployment…” So what? We want at least a forty hour work week out of our workers. Period.

The real problem, as PR reports from the government stress is this…””France is still one of the world’s most productive economies,  way ahead of Germany, the U.K. and most other European countries, but others could catch up.” (Watch out-there might be ghosts in the closet!-my add.)The report continues…..”The political answer is that French voters have constantly supported the 35-hour week. So now that the government has recognized the law might be bad for the economy…” Really, “Might be bad for the economy?”  Maybe, in some twisted way of thinking…as twisted as the report above that reveals workers want a 35 hour work week so the government has decided it might be bad…..blah blah splat, fart, poop on the people, what France needs is leadership! Please pass the caviar.

Power knows how to fight back, and tell the workers what’s good for them.

French rulers don't want to talk about the changes in labor laws.

French rulers don’t want to talk about the changes in labor laws.

Has there ever been a time when workers didn't have to fight for their rights....

Has there ever been a time when workers didn’t have to fight for their rights….(last week in France- a discussion about the change in labor laws.)

It comes down to owners and rulers wanting the people to work longer hours so they can make more money,,,,and the French workers know it. They see they are out producing neighboring countries that work up to a 60 hour work week while working under a 35 hour per work week law and call these proposed changes in their way of life a load of BS.

Students march during a protest in Paris, Wednesday, March 9, 2016. Angry unions and youth have entered a show of force with French President Francois Hollande in a day of protests against the government's effort to tamper with the country's 35-hour workweek to create new jobs. Several union and student organizations called protests across France on Wednesday to try to kill the bill which has even divided Hollande's Socialists. The banner reads: " No to the law". Yes, Isis is a threat, but maybe, just maybe, a government in the pocket of Big Business is even worse. The last attack in Paris and then in Brussels is still new history, but look what the French are marching against?

The 35 hour work week has created tremendous productivity, given women more time to be home, boasted morale and cut unemployment. Still, the back room dealers in France call it a bad deal.

I say, Vive La France. Workers unite for a better way of life. As for the French  President, Hollande and the muscle that pushes for these so-called Labor reform laws? Give them baked beans.

Say what?

Say what?

“Put simply and crassly, the American peoples’ memory for political events is little better than the attention span of a ferret, on crystal meth, in a mirror store.”*

You think Trump will remain the mean primary winning guy who’s yelling from the Right side of the room once he gets his party’s nomination? Not so much. For Trump, the Times will be a changin’ and, in fact, that change has already begun.

It’s simple truth that most, if not all, candidates move their stance to the political middle of the road once they win either party’s nomination. Trump will be no different. He has already changed stride during the last Republican debate. The national coverage took his pedal-to-the-medal foot off of spewing hateful anti-immigrant slogans while he chose to bank left and declare that,”I can make a deal.”

Interesting. Our not long ago hate monger is metamorphosing into a Deal Breaker who can broker World-Wide trade and turn that cash flow back in America’s favor. I’d think every American hopes for that.

Amazing. Our, I’m free to shoot whoever I like, primary candidate is turning his aim toward the venue of detente. Soon, Trump’s theme song will be, I won’t Back Down…And who doesn’t want a President who won’t back down?

Come this November, ballets will be about perception, a far cry from a reality filled of facts long since forgotten.

I’ve read the average voting American has a sever case of short-term memory loss, and I believe it. It is possible that Trump could shoot a person in March, bury him that same month, and by November be remembered as the guy who owns a huge, successful fertilizer business.

Come this September, Trump won’t be charging Mexico for a wall but embracing that country in a bi-partnered initiative to create local employment and enhance equal respect between the two countries. Trump won’t be calling for his rally dissenters to be punched, but rather he’ll greet those of differing opinions with open arms, just as he does all his foreign employees and wives. He’s already loves the poor and Black people…it’s really just that he forgot to mention Mexicans and other immigrants during the primary speeches. Now, our excellent police force will have all that in good hands under his soon to be appointed new leaders in that field. Problems will fade as Trump’s love for this country grows…

Meanwhile, while fact check shows Hillary did nothing wrong over the Benghazi massacre-one some seem to think was worse than any WW II crime committed-Trump will make sure American’s know how to spell the word, Benghazi, backward by the time he’s finished talking about that incident. And the e-mails Hillary hid will be easily seen after the 10 thousand e-mails Bush and Chaney erased are sent air-borne by Trump’s blow-hard speeches on the subject. His immigration stances will be equated to Biblical teachings-spare the rod and spoil the child. I imagine Trump will memorize at least one Biblical verse by November no mater how hard it is for him to remember his favorite book-The Bible.

Odd, how one of Trumps major cards to play will be Hillary’s relationship to technology-her missing e-mails- while a different sort of technology, film tape, may be Hillary’s salvation if she hopes to win this November. Trump will try to distance himself from the speeches and tactics he used to help win the primary during the National election campaign period; Hillary can use tape to tie him down to those very same speeches and tactics via massive air-wave ads. Trump and the elephant party will hope voters do forget what happened in March when it comes time to vote in November. Hillary by September can dig in her heels as a donkey might and plow those hopes away by showing actual footage of the Trump gone mad in March.images (5)

“You did too say that!”

No matter what, Trump will try to move to the middle as the successful business man who never meant exactly what he had said in the past. Thing is, can Hillary make him eat his words? The election will come down to that.images (3)

Will Trump eat his words?

Often, learning a bit of history can teach an ear -full.

Often, learning a bit of history can teach us an ear -full.

Henry Ford wanted a car in every garage and cranked up production to make that possible for most, as long as they had a job, garage and home. Thing is, a lot is being discussed today about  what color of life matters and Americans’ are slinging their prejudices around as if those thoughts were snow balls, or water balloons or bastions of truth. No one cares who has a garage, house, or job.

After World War II, not much was different.

Troops came home to waiting wives and began in earnest to create the baby boomer generation. Children sprung from bedrooms within cheap housing as if they were flowers blooming in May. But this time in American history wasn’t a spring time in the life of many Americans, even for those who had fought in the war and returned home victorious. The trouble was, many of our returning Vets were Black, and in truth they did matter but it was how they mattered that really was the point and poison of Life in America. The attitudes and actions taken back then have created so much of the radical tensions American’s feel today throughout our society.

The housing plans marketed and sold by Bill Levitt back in the 1940’s, community systems known as Levitttown developments, had much to do with the segregation that exists in American communities today.

The need for housing was urgent after the war and the plan was simple.

FDR had established much earlier (about 1930ish)a government sponsored mortgage lending company that would enable vets to buy homes with little down and affordable mortgages. Later on, massive Levittown building sites could make the American dream of owning a home come true for all those who wanted to take that golden step up in society. Of course, by Levittown specific purchase agreements only Whites could buy into any of their homes-the Levittown’s were segregated for Whites Only, a widely celebrated fact among the White middle class. Even though segregation in housing had been outlawed as far aback as 1917, still the Levittown , White only, purchase agreements stood in court when challenged in 1955.*

This Levittown was built in Pa just after the war.....

This Levittown was built in Pa just after the war…..

Oddly, I have personal experience with this, “No Blacks  in our community,” law.

I was born and raised in Roslyn Heights, South Park, a Levitt built community. The first Black family moved in around 1964. My dad had been one of the lucky soldiers to buy into the community and we along with our neighbors  were all as happy as claims living in our white shelled housing.

My fmaily in our South Park, Levitt built home,,about he year the Black family moved in-1965ish

My family in our South Park, Levitt built home,,about the year the Black family moved in-1965ish

A community meeting was held to try to stop the action when news broke about the first  Blacks buying one house in South Park. I can still hear my dad complaining that by strict deed he’d bought into a White only neighborhood. But times had changed since 1955 and the courts were now trumping those segregated agreements-but only for those Blacks lucky enough to have risen high within the earning structure. Beside the Levittown restrictions, Blacks also had to fight against rating mortgage systems that gave White only communities the toughest standards for approval, while Black districts were rated very low making easy to get mortgages plentiful for those areas. As I recall, this Black man who did move in was a doctor….The scuttlebutt over this Black family moving into South Park dissipated once fears of too many cars, an unkempt lawn, run down shutters and street garbage proved to be unfounded-that, however, took awhile.

Basically, Levittown’s all over the Northeast created 70,000 home communities that stood for thirty years or longer as icons of White only, safe,  well-kept neighborhoods-White only areas where middle class families could prosper and live the American Dream. For Blacks? The hard to get mortgages and outright segregated communities helped to  create the Ghetto, mostly Black housing areas many Americans now point to and exclaim how shameful those developments are today.

In truth, most of the trash talk about Black Ghettos started after WW ll with the government mortgage restrictions and Levittown’s exclusive White Only purchasing policies….

Yes all lives matter, but back in 1945, at least, the lives of Blacks and their families, even the lives of Black vets mattered less than their White counterpart’s lives-and most White people back then thought this fair. Exclusion of Blacks into White communities after the War helped lead to feelings of contempt for Blacks at the time. Those feelings of contempt for a race branded as not good enough has , at least in part, bred the ever-present hatred for Blacks that is so prevalent within American White society today. Those long ago cast feelings are an anchor to progress for American society today, and we must as a people break those chains and move on.

*From a google article on Levittown history…..

Originally, the Levitts’ racist policy was enshrined in the lease itself, which stipulated that “the tenant agrees not to permit the premises to be sued or occupied by any person other than members of the Caucasian race.” 10 That provision was later struck down in court as unconstitutional, but Bill Levitt continued to enforce racial homogeneity in practice by rejecting would-be black buyers.
Activist groups across the U.S. and even individuals within Levittown, who united under the Committee to End Discrimination in Levittown, protested the Levitts’ racist policies. In 1955, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) sued federal mortgage agencies which had helped future homeowners finance the purchase of homes in the community, basing the suit on the denial of six black veterans from purchasing homes. Thurgood Marshall, the lawyer who had successfully argued Brown v. Board of Education, represented the plaintiffs, but a Philadelphia court dismissed the suit after ruling that the federal agencies were not responsible for preventing housing discrimination.
Though the Levitts made it an unofficial policy not to sell homes to minorities, they could not legally prevent an existing homeowner from reselling their home to black buyers.

A thousand year old stand is cut in the USA to build a dam....

A thousand year old stand is cut in the USA to build a dam….

Many think  Nature is not a part of us. I recall reading books and essay’s or hearing opinions that placed Man and the Nature of our planet in juxtaposition. For so long the world of Nature has been thought to be somehow  unrelated to each of us on a personal level. Of course, Nature, and our environment is outside and inside of us on a constant basis throughout every hour, every minute and every second of every day of our lives. The Nature of our planet lives through us as part of our biochemical body, our senses and our understanding.

This is why it’s important for citizens of Alachua county to ask the commissioners to turn down the plum Creek plan. It will allow mining on our county’s East side and that’s not good.

Here, In Alachua county, Florida, the people still have one last chance to turn down a phosphate mining proposal for the East side of Gainesville-It is important for our outer and inner bodies in this county that this proposal to mine, called Envision Alachua,  is stopped. County commissioners will meet this Thursday, Feb. 25th at 5 PM , at East side High School, to hear people’s opinions on the matter and to vote yes or no. This is our chance to make a difference; to protect our environment and help Alachua county’s air quality remain as pure as it is now. If you live on the West side far away, you still will eventually breathe the same air I will or have-it’s just the nature of life and air to circulate.

For more on the huge downside of Phosphate mining in Florida, please read this- http://www.sierraclub.org/florida/phosphate-mining

It turns out the Native American saying, Be one with Nature, was not a suggestion or request, but a fact.

We all get the idea of Body Bubbles. It’s that uneasy feeling we have when someone encroaches our invisible body bubble that tells us this surrounding zone of space really does exist. Thing is, our individual lives extend far beyond our perceived body bubble. Every person, large or small,  sitting, walking or even running consumes on average about  19 cubic feet of air per day. Think of a crowded room, a meeting, someplace you have to be or go that’s full of people, and ask yourself a simple question: whose air am I breathing now?

A full size pine can produce up to 28 cubic feet of air per day....plus they absorb CO2... STill--we cut them down without much thought of how connected we as a people are to their growth and health.

A full size pine can produce up to 28 cubic feet of air per day….plus they absorb CO2… Still–we cut tress down without much thought of how connected we are as people to their growth and health.(Canada-timber company at work)

People are connected in a physical way to the nature of everything that’s around us.

People invisibly move in and out of other people’s lives through the routine task of exhaling and inhaling–we share the  air we breathe with almost everyone we encounter. More, we share our breath with every living thing on the planet. Worse, we share our breath with every non-living thing as well. Rust oxidizes, rubber will eventually break down and then there’s the way that we as a society produce power.coal-power-plant-emitting-carbon-dioxide-smokestacks-three-fired-emit-pollution-60081810 Coal power plants emit 40% of the carbon dioxide  found in our atmosphere…..

powerplant

The importance of curtailing industrial waste and smoke-any type of pollution-should not be over looked. Certainly, we can’t help but to take in pollution as we breathe but we can limited the amount of poisons our lungs are infusing into our blood streams during the process.

The landscape we live in is mapped in our heads every day of our lives.

Central Park is inside every New Yorker's lungs and mind of every day. The planner of this park got that.

Central Park is inside every New Yorker’s lungs and mind  every day. The planner of this park got that.

The planners of this mine in Canada , didn’t get it, or forgot, or maybe they were never told how connected everyone is to everything we do.

Don't look now, but these mines are wrecking our lives.....

Don’t look now,  but these mines are wrecking our lives…..

A phosphate mine is a fairly horrendous thing to our environment and to our sense of well-being. It’s time for citizens of Alachua county to stand up, to Stand by Our Plan as expressed  by the will of 75% of our voters when we passed Alachua Forever last November.  I hope you can make the meeting, or write our commissioners…. Please ask the commissioners to step away, take a deep breath and rethink passing this proposal. Vote it down.

(Two public meetings have been scheduled by county staff to present their response to the revised Plum Creek plan:

  • February 16, 2016
  • February 18, 2016
Both meetings start at 5:00 pm and will be at Eastside High School. There will be presentations by county staff and representatives of Plum Creek. There will be time for public comment.)
The stand by your plan.org group is fighting to retain our rights…..

Ha! Alachua County Forever , my ass. Right now, elected officials may be about to approve a building development  that flies in  the face of the Alachua County Forever agenda! This plan is one made in hell and disregards the will of the people of Alachua County and the entire state of Florida! It comes to us under the guise of, Envision Alachua, a new improved plan brought up just three months after voters fully backed Alachua Forever Amendment 1 at the voting booths. Thing is, developers couldn’t find a way to work around the Alachua Forever amendment so they’ve invented this Envision Alachua and they’re calling it  a “Community backed” program. Whahhah…maybe it is backed by a community of thieves hell-bent on circumventing the people’s will, but that’s about it.  Just last Nov. the people voted on Amendment 1 and that amendment won by over a 75% majority-an amendment that, in part, supported the green passageway in Florida and our state’s wet lands.  It is a blue print of how We the People want growth and development in Florida to be structured  right now and in the future—forever.

The plum creek development proposed site lands right on top of Florida’s green passageway

Developers hopw to counter Amendment 1 with something called-Envision Florida....WTH?

Developers hope to counter Amendment 1 with something called-Envision Alachua….WTH?

Contact these Alachua County Commissioners now and ask them to stop Plum Creek-You’ll get the big picture if you read Commissioner, Mike Byerly’s comments on the link below-he’s got it right,,,Commissioner, Hutchinson is oh so wrong…

Profiles

And it even gets worse. The developer’s  requested to have waved  the required(by law prior to building) plans for road development and septic usage until AFTER the development is built! Why-oh-why does this all make me think of the Bio Mass plant scenario disaster our citizens of this county have had to endure ….oh, wait, I know why: it’s because this Plum Creek crap is the same sort of a load our elected officials pulled when the Bio plant was put into action.

Okay, why should we the citizens of Alachua County, Florida, and the entire US hate the Plum Creek building plans? Ha—amendment 1 just passed Nov 2015 by over 75%,,,an amendment put in place to stop just this sort of urban sprawl into our wet lands and intrusion of the green passageway for migrating animals from north to south Florida. In part, the protection of this passageway is what Alachua Forever is about. Now, within one year of the passages of amendment 1 back room deals and elected officials threaten to side step the will of the people by allowing this development…..Here’s a short list of those groups who supported amendment 1–and IF you or anyone you know is a member of any of these groups–please contact them and have them write Alachua county officials,,, and Cynthia Chestnut the current chair of he Democratic party for North Florida. The, no, THE list—-“Florida’s Water and Land Legacy Campaign attributes much of its success to the invaluable service of its volunteers and generous contributions of donors.
