The day had no way of knowing, it started off so differently. I still sat at the breakfast table when our four grandchildren, without any prompting, opted to chill and read in the morning light.

.

After working in a library for the past twenty five years-just wow.

But I had a plan.

There’s nothing like a fishin’ trip to spark up day! We’d gathered with high spirits along with some pensive moments: what would happen; how would do; would we come home fishermen or boaters?

We headed down the steps on our way to the boat. (How about those fingers!)

We set course for  Mud Lake with broad smiling faces, multiple rods, bunches of hooks, buckets of smelly worms on board and soda’s in hand. Plus, we had Shadow who knows at five that boat rides rock up and down and all around.

We had attitude, baby.

Guard Shadow had our side covered…

What would happen? Would we have any luck? And, would Shadow dive in after the loons, ducks, beavers and or fish? No one knew?

Bingo!!! Fish up!Actually, more than 60 fish up. My right arm hurt at night from de-worming, and de-fish hooking for those a bit off on that. Hats keep most hooks out of heads, but fingers are hook magnets.

Okay, I’m not sure, but I think this is a ritual we will keep up after any successful fishing thingy.

Time to leave Mud Lake meant our sounder took position to safely lead our way.

We headed home a happy lot. We’d have fish for lunch and a bunch more books were waiting to be read. And, there was also yoga time.

But maybe showing off our catch to our new neighbor friends was the best of it all!

Then again, we’re all neighbors at the Lake! Thanks for enjoying  a dream come true: fishin’ time with the kids and doggie…Ya gotta love it!

Cheers from the lake with more to come!

No, the country didn’t land in our lap, our daughter and family flew in from Johannesburg, South Africa to help pick and eat our oranges.  My daughter has been picking oranges all her life, starting with my dad’s trees in Satellite Beach, Florida. She’s an absolute pickin’ pro, and when she heard about our crop this year, she had to come( She may have had one or two more reasons for making he two-day flight.) About that orange crop in our yard this year! Boom! Smash, whoa-what a doozy, who could count all of them? Well, me-almost down to the last orange-those are still left to pick.

We've picked over 1200 oranges form our property since Nov. 1st*

We’ve picked over 1200 oranges from our property since Nov. 1st* This tree has about 200 more on it, the Valencia will ripen now through February …

We have so many oranges, I’ve started throwing them for Shadow to chase instead of using tennis balls—it’s all good!

Shadow knows I might throw an orange or two when I pick a bunch,,,he waits bye

Then, I fling an orange and wait for its return.

At first, I didn't think Shadow would pick up an orange. Ha! This is Shadow-he who eats anything....

At first, I didn’t think Shadow would pick up an orange. Ha! This is Shadow-he who eats anything….the oranges are fine to use after double tasking as balls

Speaking of eating, like I said, Kelly and her family came to eat.

The plane flight was worth it

The plane flight was worth it—-her daughter didn’t fall far from the tree! She’s not letting go of that orange.

But, it wasn’t all about eating oranges. Reading was a foot!

Of the 1200 hundred we’ve picked so far, only about 55 have gone to waste, thanks to our daughter’s families appetites, our neighbors, church groups and workmates got bunches, too. Heck, even our doctors got oranges.

Our trees inside and out were covered with oranges.

So it was an orange you glad to see me kinda of Holiday this year. Next season-who knows?!?! It’s mostly all in the weather.

It was so great to have Kelly and her family visit form Africa this year, and see the cousins and sisters get together.

It’s such a joy to see family, and to grow food, too.  See one another whenever you can, and plant those trees and seeds as well.

Cheers from Florida! Franque23

THE CODE OF AVATAR MAGIC: AVATAR MAGIC SERIES, BOOK TWO, is as much a companion book to book one as it is a sequel. The timeline of book two is both before and after  that of book one. Two editors helped shape this book, along with a first reader, friends and family members. I’ve posted the credits below*. I love Dan Horak’s  cover design-his art work catches the transitional nature of book two, with many plot and character threads heading in all directions and the ongoing DNA/Computer symbiotic theme of the series. The text of the cover I had to do myself, and think it not as well accomplished as Dan’s art, but after working on the over all book since 2009, I wanted to get this book, and the continuation of Avatar Magic Series published.

I do hope you’ll love the book. Both editors believe book two is far better than book one; that’s good news!  Book three is mostly completed but for the editing process, so the wait time between the publication of book two and the final book of the series, book three, will not be long.

Thank you for your support and readership of Avatar Magic, and your comments on this blog. Of course, I’m looking for reviews of my second book on Kindle!

Please, enjoy book two, share the book and let me know what you think.

*The Code of Avatar Magic Credits:

The writing of this book began in 2009, so credits for its creation span a good deal of time. Then again, who knows when creations, results and events really begin?

It was Ken Campbell who first helped me add to the telling of this story. Ken, you are a powerful force in the world of words and education. Thank you for your guidance in this matter.

I can only express my endless appreciation to Barbara Mullenix for her tireless work as my first reader. One day, I may learn how to spell thanks to you. Support from my wife, Dale, and from my sister, Sharon Franquemont, is always paramount in all that I do.  Of course, none of this work would be possible without the steadfast attention and huge effort by the book’s first editor, Linda Stefanelli, and then the book’s second editor, Kelly Shiohira. Their constant, wise leadership helped shape this transitional middle book in the Avatar Magic Series.

Dan Horack is an artist of unique skill and acumen. Thank you so much, Dan, for allowing me to use your work as the title page of The Code of Avatar Magic.

There is a force from which we all draw strength. I thank this massive alignment of being for supplying the combined energies it took to complete this work.
